Our Home Facility: is nestled on 24 acres purchased in 1970 in Londonderry Township, south of Cochranville PA. Our bank barn has 23 matted stalls and three tie areas. There are additional tie areas outside the tack room and indoor arena. Our large heated tack room is attached to the indoor arena ( 40 x 90). We have three outdoor arenas; a dressage arena ( 90 x 225) with footing of sand and rubber , a schooling arena with sand ( 90 X 180 ), and a Stadium jumping arena with sand ( 135 x 235). In 2005 we added a 50 foot round pen built by Stoltzfus Fence Co. Our horses are turned out is small groups in our six fields. Darcy lives on the property as well as Alyce ( Darcy’s Mom) and her husband Larry Denver.
Lesson Program: Darcy Miller is the riding instructor at Blue Goose. She is a USDF Bronze medalist, USDF L Program Graduate, and has been instructing since 1986. Darcy has horses available for students to learn on. She teaches children and adults on their own horses and ponies as well building strong relationships between them. Darcy teaches a balanced seat position. Safety of the rider is her main concern. Darcy is wonderful for the timid rider and those returning to riding. Darcy teaches adult amateurs and those actively competing through third level. She teaches from a hunt seat equitation and dressage background. Her students compete in dressage, eventing and jumpers. Darcy’s students ride in group and private lessons. Her students can be found taking lunge lessons to improve position, jumping lessons, doing a lots of dressage and basic flat work to improve the horses suppleness, and responsiveness, ground working their horses and riding in rope halters or even bridle less and bareback!
Boarding: We are a full care boarding facility. Our horses are turned out daily in small groups. We bed on straw and use Stoltzfus Feed and Supply Co for our Equine nutritional needs. Pennfield Feed & Technologies products are fed as well as quality hay. Our feed room is organized with a big thanks to the Smart Pak company. It is by and far the best product we have come across for feeding supplements to our horses. It is a huge time saving product not to mention the quality and freshness of the supplements. Our horses also are on a daily dewormer as well as being dewormed quarterly with an ivermectin type product. We regularly maintain the pastures to break up the manure to help control flies and parasites. In addition we use the fly predators. These are a wonderful way to control the flies. We apply them to our manure pile, around the barn, and loafing areas in the pastures. The owners have access to a large heated tack room to keep their tack trunks and tack. Also access to the all the arenas and round pen. Outside instructors are welcome. We also hold clinics, dressage shows, and Combined Tests throughout the year. You are welcome to come visit the farm and meet Darcy.
